Beyond the Sizer: Why Your 'Standard' Carry-On Might Still Get Checked

What actually counts as a "standard" carry-on? A slightly smaller bag, something closer to a 20-inch international spinner, almost always finds room, even on the regional jets that started this whole argument. Think compact car in a city with no parking: you carry less, but you actually get where you're going while the guy with the oversized wheelie is still arguing with a gate agent.
